Self Improvement Chris is dead

Now that didn't take very long did it? Went out with Terence and Xin yesterday to Joyce Li's bday party (happy bday Joyce!) Took a real rough tumble when I had one of her friends on my back and tore my R&R jeans. :-( Let this be an advice to everybody out there, don't drink and rickshaw. I met a lot of really nice and nice looking people yesterday, and I have an inkling that most of them are from LA. Overall, a great night. I started drinking at 4:30 yesterday too. 4:30 to 2. It was marathon drinking and I'm glad I didn't pass out.

I find myself perpetually jumping from one drunken moment to another. A lot of life experience to catch up on I think.

I took the CFA. I THINK I may have passed, unless I failed the ethics portion. A shoutout to my mates, David and Steve for studying with me and keeping me from playing too much Wii tennis. Couldn't have done it without you guys. I'll know Jan 23 if I passed or not. The proctor was pretty hot.

I've been trying to work out a bit too. I've always been too skinny and I need to take advantage of my rare bursts of "self improvement chris" when I can. Right now I'm downloading Nero 8 to read the CD image of Rosetta Stone: Chinese so I can learn Mandarin. I'm gonna bulk up then kick Dave's ass when I get down to LA. Then, I'm gonna force feed him Asahi, cuz that guy needs to know the joy of drinking.

Also, there are a lot of people I secretly hate right now. But... it's a secret.

WANTED: Eating buddy

i NEED to try new food. I'm pretty sure the same way that Korean people have built high alcohol tolerance because all the ones with low alcohol tolerance drank themselves to death, Chinese people are always on the crusade to try new foods.

Anyway, I need somebody who'd be willing to try balut. Anybody in?!?! Anybody?

my comeuppance

Just finished the work I was supposed to finish today... at 9pm. Still in the office getting my CFA study on. Won't go home before 12 I think.

I really need to cut down on the procrastinating I do here. It's getting out of hand. I should write down daily goals and achieve them, otherwise I'm gonna get fired. Although... some things I learned today thanks to wikipedia and such:

ok i lied

I lied. I just got through 100 pages in my cfa book. My stomach hurts like crazy though. Probably the pizza I ate for lunch today. If asians don't eat milk products for a while, their ability to process it goes away and lactose intolerance sets in.

Otherwise, I hope it's not a parasite or something I got from Diana's goldfish 2 weeks ago. Even though it'd be a good story to tell, I wouldn't want little worms crawling out of my belly button. At least not until my friends become doctors.

The weekend before

Did nothing but read Death Note for 12 hours last weekend. When i start something, I finish it, dammit. It's like that one week I gave up on school to play Civ3. David Lu (Cal David Lu, not Farmer's David Lu) let me burn a copy of Civ3 and the minute I installed it I knew it was bad news. No class for a week. 7 brutal days of waking up at 5:30 pm, getting to the dining hall before it closed, building my little e-civilization until 11 am, then falling asleep only to repeat the self destructive pattern. I remember that by the time I finally got my little civilization to space, watched a craptacular endgame cutscene of a little Chinese rocket blast off into the stars, I was so manic about how little personal satisfaction I got from winning that I immediately uninstalled the game and broke the cd into little pieces.

I have no self control.
